She cracks herself up!!!

I'm not quite sure what got into this child, but for about an hour and 1/2 last night, she was making herself laugh-hard. So hard in fact, she would crumple over herself laughing. She was sitting on the couch, chillin, and then out of no where, she just burst into laughter-for no good reason. And she ended up just sitting on the edge of the couch having the "church giggles" (you know, once you get laughing and can't stop no matter how you try). As we all know "laughter is contagious"-Jamey and I were rolling on the floor! I would challenge anyone to watch this child laugh, and not join in!

Whoever invented Spaghet-i-o's...

for babies should be shot!!!! Who's grand idea was it to make a finger food out of something that stains for crying out loud?! Of coarse, I am the delusional mom who actually thought she would pick them up piece by piece and place them nicely in her mouth. Instead, she would grab fistfuls and toss them at her face like the cookie monster! Oh, if only Steve were still with us, he would have loved this and I wouldnt have to clean the floor myself.
After dinner, of coarse, came the ensuing bath!!!! I just dumped her in some water and started scrubbing. 10 minutes is my normal limit for her baths-this one took 45!

How to choose...

There were 245 pictures on the disk Scott gave me from our little Easter photo shoot. Of coarse Ryan looked stunning (even though she barely smiles in any of them-that is just how she rolls) Jamey's parents & Jamey looked great, my mom looked beautiful, and then there is me....in all my "sobbing uncontrollably for 3 days, bags under the eyes, 7 weeks pregnant weight gain" glory. I'm exaggerating a bit, but I certainly felt how I looked-stressed, emotionally spent (this was days after I found out I was pregnant again magically) and just ready for the weekend to be over. But all that considered, I think they turned out all right! Thanks again Scott, I know you are used to athletes in motion, but we did the best we could! :)

These photos were taken in 1910...

not really....obviously. However, I really liked this effect of making making my pictures look "antiqued". These were very sweet photos of Ryanbug and I. Makes my heart melt....and I will cherish them forever!

Easter In...

After the week I had, and the photo shoot, party and dinner out on Sat-we decided it to be best to spend Easter in our house!!!! Grandma, Papa Joe and Nana, came and went (see Ryan looking out the window at them leave), Jamey and I needed some serious chillin time. So we all as a family, sat around and watched the Masters! Ahhh......it actually was a perfect Easter!!! Quiet!

A Day of "Firsts"

Who doesn't love a party??? Well, if you had asked me that the days, hours and minutes leading up to Ryan's First Birthday Party, I would have said "I DONT!". But looking back now I can laugh. Well, chuckle at least, cause in the end it worked out and Ryan had a blast, which was most important!
Getting everything ready started months ago, when I decided to make all the flowers for her "Garden/Bug" theme...fine, that's fine. Got those done. Gorgeous, if I do say so myself. Everything else was normal party preparations, nothing stressful, just finishing stuff up. The cake was the daunting, looming, scary part. I thought it was going to be disastrous, but actually it turned out ok-not great, not what I envisioned in my head, but after the week from hell I had (with the walking pneumonia and also finding out I was pregnant again) I took what came out.
The day of her party was when I started to show signs of unraveling...I had no control over it!
Actually the day started out ok, photos on campus, which Ryan did ok for. Giving Scott her editorial look (serious, no smile). I cant blame her, she is not a commercial model-more high fashion. That was fine, it was after, it was getting ready and stepping into the wind tunnel that was Pavilion #3. It was a bit windy that day, but I guess where this thing is located created 50 mph winds just for us. Just getting the table cloths down and duct taped was a feat, and I quickly realized I was not going to be able to use the flowers I worked so hard on-the cracks began to show! Then all of a sudden the bunches and bunches of balloons I had temporarily tied to the high chair broke loose and floated away 30 minutes before the party. At which point I checked out...left to go home to get ready, crying like I was a one year old. My mother, who there is no way this party would have happened at all without, jumped into crisis mode, called the store and got new balloons. Then the party started, and here is where all of Ryan's "firsts" began. We grilled hot dogs/hamburgers-so she had her first hot dog! Loved it-not surprised, she eats anything. Then time for cake, and she giggled and smiled while everyone sang to her...very very cute. So I gave her the head of the caterpillar, which if you look at the picture, looks scared to death...so funny, but she had her first bites of cake and icing. Again-Loved it. She also had her first strawberries, honeydew and watermelon as well.
The party was a success, and Ryanbug had a great time!!!!! Really, not so sure it was worth it, but the look on her face when we were singing to her is something I will never forget. Her diaper the next morning was also something I will never forget!

Thanks Uncle Joel....

for the giant teddy bear that takes up the entire apartment!!!!!! Damn thing is bigger than I am! We named him Beau, and she LOVES it!!! As do I!

The love is real....

I cannot tell yet if Ryan's remembers her grandparents from trip to trip. Probably not yet. But even so, every time they visit, she adores these people!! All I know she gives them the best hugs!!! The only problem with that is, they never want to leave! :)

Little Lady Turns 1!!!

Wednesday April 8, 2009- My baby, the sweet angel-faced, doll that was born what seemed like yesterday turned one!!! And once again, much to my chagrin, another cliche was proven true-it does go by way too fast. Which is quite a phenomenon seeing how when I look back, the days seemed to go on forever, and yet time went by fast.
We took her to daycare, brought the room cookies (which Im positive the daycare ladies appreciated) and after school visited with grandma!!! All in all it was a good day! Bitter sweet, but good

As a side note-I also found out on this day that I am pregnant with our second...so it was quite a shocking, happy, confusing, wonderful day!
